Dear Yogis, I have news!

I hope this finds you well and the transition into Autumn is going smoothly.
My big news is that I have made the decision to retire from teaching regular Yoga and Body Method classes from the beginning of February 2026. You may have suspected something was up when I said my schedule would be changing from next year and shortened the expiry dates on my pricing plans, apologies for not letting you know sooner but several factors needed confirming before I could make an official announcement. You may still see me covering the occasional class and maybe I’ll teach a workshop one day… but the plan is, after twenty-three years of teaching, to reconnect with my own practice, spend more time with my family and attempt to visit as many places on my destination bucket list as possible!

I have created two pricing plans to continue to offer discounted classes up to the end of January 2026, one plan of three classes for 90 minute classes and another for three classes for my 60 minute classes.

All plans must be used by the end of January please.

This leads me to my beloved Lotus Loft.
I am absolutely delighted to announce that the studio will be placed in the capable hands of Nikki Cassap from 2nd February 2026. Nikki teaches Sivananda, Vinyasa and Jivamukti classes, immersions and teaching development sessions. She also facilitates Teacher Training Courses and retreats in the UK and abroad. She has been practicing and teaching Yoga for nearly twenty years and has become an integral part of the studio so is perfectly suited to continuing and sharing the ethos of the Lotus Loft. Nikki will be taking over the teaching of all but one of my classes from the beginning of February next year, we will share the new schedule as soon as possible.

I will cherish the memories of our time together, the laughter attempting a challenging pose, the balances in particular, to the collective peace at the end of each class. I am blessed to have met and spent time with such wonderful like-minded people. So many of you continued to support and practice with me in the days of covid by joining me online, how quickly we learnt how to use Zoom! I will be forever grateful as your continued dedication was responsible for keeping the Lotus Loft alive during and after that difficult time.
While I will no longer be teaching regularly, please continue to practice, embrace your yoga journey and experience the guidance of different teachers. Yoga is the path to stillness and peace, even at
the busiest time, the pause button we need to press frequently.

I send you all my love and gratitude and will miss you dearly!

Yoga & Body Method classes in Exeter

Sharing the joy of movement with students of all ages, abilities and experience

Hi, my name is Jax, welcome to my website!
I first found Yoga when I was fourteen and have practiced many styles since including Astanga, Sivananda, Scaravelli, Vinyasa and Kundalini. I gained my Yoga teaching qualification with the British Wheel of Yoga in 2008 and now teach Hatha Yoga and a Callanetics, Pilates & Yoga based class called Body Method. In 2011 I opened the Lotus Loft Yoga Centre in Exeter and teach a number of classes across the week. My classes are friendly and welcoming and are suitable for all levels of ability and experience, from beginners to those wishing to deepen their practice. You will be encouraged to remain within your own comfortable place so your practice can develop at it's own pace.  The aim is for the student to become the observer finding balance between ease and effort.

If you'd like to attend a class with me, head to the 'class schedule' tab and follow the instructions to book in.  You can book up to 14 days before the class  and pay for a single class or buy a pack of three classes which can be used at any of my classes across the week.

All pricing plans must be used by the end of January 2026 when I will stop teaching regular classes.

There's no need to have your own mat as the Lotus Loft is fully equipped, just wear something comfortable, preferably in natural fibres and try not to eat anything a couple of hours before the class starts.
Hope to see you on the mat soon!
